Housing Information for Study Abroad Students

Application Deadline for Winter or Spring 2008 Housing is May 18, 2007 for students studying abroad Fall 2007 quarter.

If you are planning to study abroad during the 2007-2008 academic year, please read the information below:

Fall Term Abroad

  • Students currently living on campus for the spring 2007 quarter may participate in the Housing Renewal process specific to your class designation and pay to keep your space available to you when you in arrive in the winter 2008 or spring 2008 quarters. This option would result in your paying the full rate for on campus housing even though you would not live on campus. OR
  • You may fill out a winter or spring contract online and submit your deposit by May 18th to Housing and Residential Education. With the tremendous demand for on-campus housing, returning study abroad students will almost certainly not receive campus housing without submitting a contract and deposit by May 18th. Applications received after this date will be considered late. Priority will be based on the date we receive your contract, your preferences, and the space available at the time of your return. Please be aware that available space will range from furnished and unfurnished apartments to rooms in Nelson and Centennial Towers.

Winter or Spring Abroad – (Living on campus for the fall 2007 quarter)

  • If you will be living on campus for the spring 2007 quarter, you will need to participate in the housing renewal process specific to your class designation according to the instructions in the Housing Renewal Information that will be delivered to you (late February). If you are able to secure fall housing, you do not need to follow any special procedures other than to notify the Housing and Residential Education during the quarter prior to your study abroad experience.
  • If you currently live off campus, you can fill out a contract online (after March 16th) and submit your $200 housing deposit to Housing and Residential Education. With the tremendous demand for on campus housing, it is imperative that you complete your contract and submit your deposit as soon as possible. Priority will be based on your housing status (on or off campus during the spring quarter), the date we receive your deposit, your preferences, and the space available for the fall 2007 quarter.
